The Underground Cathedral

Welcome to my website that offers a unique methodology for the marketing of The Routes of Civilization (Underground Cathedral), a multimedia project that has been developed over several decades. The overriding theme is an artistic/sociological exploration of underground transportation systems throughout the world. It began with the creation of an enormous stained glass artwork that is seen above, which is based on a map of the Paris Metro. It may be the largest free-standing stained glass artwork in existence. Currently on view in my private Los Angeles gallery known as "Abrams' Tower," it has been recently returned from Europe, having survived unimaginable ordeals, ranging from a fire to being damaged and lost at sea, eventually arriving too late in Barcelona, Spain, for an exhibition associated with the 1992 Olympics, which was never to be. It subsequently remained marooned there for twenty-five years, before finally being safely shipped back to Los Angeles.

Extensive detailed information and other images of this artwork can be located by clicking on the image above.

The inspiration behind and theme of this massive undertaking, which was three years in execution, later evolved with other media, including photography, video making, sound recording, musical composition, digital art and mixing all of these elements into various means of artistic exploration and presentation.

Though I have two other websites (see "Other Sites" above) which present and describe this long, ongoing project in great detail, this is the first time that these artworks, representing several decades of creation, are being offered commercially as affordable high quality reproductions.

The site itself is in an early developmental stage, so there is much still to come!
